Sustainability is one of Antrim Rain Soap’s driving forces and each bar of soap is handmade using harvested rainwater from The Glens of Antrim to give a truly cleansing and natural product. As the additives in tap water would not be suitable for soap making, the brand’s focus on pollutant-free ingredients calls on the purity of rainwater, and each bar is carefully crafted using all-natural oils.
Some of Antrim Rain Soap’s range is presented unwrapped in the shop to avoid single-use waste and some bars have a marbled effect that makes for a kaleidoscopic arrangement.
Suitable for vegetarians or vegans, the ingredients in every bar are ethically and sustainably sourced. Their shampoo bars, made with jojoba oil and tussah silk, are perfect for those transitioning to a plastic-free lifestyle.
About Dawn
Antrim Rain Natural Soap Co. founder, Dawn Demaine, was called to soap-making after years of being a stay-at-home mum.
Passionate for making handmade, natural products at home, she quickly became spellbound by the science and experimented with soap scents using natural ingredients and essential oils.
Soap-making workshops
Soap-making workshops also run throughout the year and bring locals and visitors together for an experience, unthreatened by the temperamental weather of the north-east coast.
The soap-making workshop provides an intimate atmosphere for visitors to indulge their creative side and Antrim Rain Soap’s workshops are a chance to learn the tricks of the trade from an artisan soapmaker. Visitors are welcome to make their own bars using pink clay or charcoal, for added cosmetic benefits. Private demonstrations for groups are also available.
